100 Words: Vanished

Nine months after she arrived - and just over a year since I found out she was coming; my new boss vanished. She leant over my desk on the day of her review, and informed me that she was: “going to work from home this afternoon.” Off she went – never to be seen again. How do I feel? I should feel euphoric and happy, but I don’t. What I do feel is relief and hope. Relief that I’ve learnt something about myself over the last year, and the hope that I cope better when the next new boss arrives.
