Hello 2013

Oh how easy it would be, to start my first blog post of the New Year with a list of resolutions that I will no doubt fail to keep past January 6th February 10th.  Actually I'm not going to go down the "resolutions" route at all, although I do have a couple of
things I would like to do in 2013.  I'd like to write more - much more.  Three years ago I started writing a children's Christmas tale that got lost when the computer I was using died a tragic death, taking lots of unfinished blog posts and short stories with it.  I would love to finish that children's book, although I have no plans as to what I would do next.  It would also require some artwork, but I'll get over that hurdle when I get to it.  What else? I would like to make a concrete decision about where I should go with my job.  Either accept that I'm just an assistant and live with being the best assistant in the world, or make a huge change before I get too old to do anything else.

What about you, do you have any hopes or plans for 2013?

[Happy New Year to you all, by the way. I hope you have a great 2013.]

  2. As I recently posted, I mean to more throughly explore my little pocket of nowhere. Other than that, I think I'll let the story tell itself and just go along for the ride.

  3. Sorry to hear about the lost writing. I hope you manage to work out your book - it sounds like an exciting project.

I messed up early on with last year's goal and feel a bit crummy about that so I've decided that my focus for 2013 is to generally put more effort into things.

  4. I'm not a fan of New Year's resolutions but there are a few things I want to do and achieve in 2013.
    Happy New Year :)

  6. I think I'm on a chain reaction resolution this year. I pledge to be friendlier to everybody, whether they deserve it or not. Maybe that will lead to me being nicer to people, and THAT will eventually make me a kinder person. baby steps.
Sorry to hear about losing your story. I lost a whole manuscript on a flash drive once and bawled like a baby. Later I found it wedged between the mattress and the headboard.
