Creased suit, creased smile

[This piece is from May 2010, and reading it now shows me where I was mentally about then. Oh dear me; I did sound bitter and angry :( ]

You stand there in front of my desk in all your self-importance.
In your creased suit, and creased smile.

Yes you are the boss.
Yes you are cleverer than me.
Yes you have more money than me.
Yes you are far better travelled than me.
But you have a creased smile.

You drive a flash car, when I walk.
You go skiing off-piste, when I just get pissed off.
You pay for your children’s education, while my children just pay.
You should influence me, instead you destroy me.
But you have a creased smile.

You are Simon Cowell, I am Jarvis Cocker.
You are pompous; I hope, I am only modest.
You are fine wine, I am cool bottled beer.
You should have been a great leader, but I’m not following.
And you have a creased smile.

  1. Oh, yes. You are far less pompous. Quite mellow, in fact. Well done.

    1. Yes! Unfortunately (he owns the company at the moment).
