99 Words = "A story that is briefer than typical short stories."
What is "99 Words"? On this blog, it is my attempt to write a
short writing "flash fiction" or "micro fiction.
There doesn't seem to be a definitive rule for what constitutes
micro fiction - also known as sudden fiction, flash fiction,
short story - with some people imposing limits of up to 1000 words,
and other writers and bloggers saying that the limit is as low
short story in 99 words or less. Some bloggers call this type of
micro-story, short short, postcard fiction and short
as 55 words!Others suggest that the term refers to the title
of the story or post, which (they say) should be under 7 words
or less. One of the greatest examples of "Flash Fiction" has to
be by Ernest Hemingway who wrote:
"For sale: baby shoes, never worn."
